The city clerk, appointed by the City Council, serves as the official record keeper of the City of Rochester Hills and reports to the mayor on a daily basis. The responsibilities of the city clerk are defined by the City Charter, as well as state and federal law, and include the following:

Overseeing city cemeteries: Van Hoosen Jones-Stoney Creek
(located at the intersection of Tienken and Sheldon roads) and historical cemeteries - Olde Stoney Creek and Brewster
Preparing requests for Class C liquor licenses
Publishing and posting notices of the city as required by law
Recording all births and deaths occurring within the city, including Crittenton Hospital
Serving as custodian of all papers, documents and records pertaining to the city, including ordinances, resolutions and actions of the City Council
