[ARCHIVED] Park Programs and Camp this July

Today is the last day to sign up for the City’s Parks & Natural Resources Department Outdoor Adventure Camp. Join Naturalists Lance and Lauren for an outdoor experience packed with adventure and exciting camp activities. During this three-day camp, we’ll spend time looking for creatures in the river, woodlands and ponds while learning how we’re all connected to the natural world. Wilderness skills such as fire building and debris huts will also be taught, among many other fun activities.

Additionally, the City, through are Natural Resources Division, will be offering multiple opportunities for individuals, families, and groups to enjoy their July and get outdoors. Join our naturalists to learn the basics of Kayaking in our Kayaking 101 program at Spencer Park. Another program this coming month is our River Float. This program offers a great way to experience Rochester Hills and see the Clinton River from a whole new perspective. If you’re looking to stay dry check out our fishing for beginners program or other hiking programs! For older adults, this July we will be offering a Wellness and Nature Walk with Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital. Our naturalists have teamed up with professionals from Ascension to provide a hike that not only connects us with nature but also will help guide us through healthy life choices. To register for any of these or our other upcoming opportunities visit our website or call the Parks & Natural Resources Department 248-656-4673.
