How do I get on the City's vendor (bid) list?

In order to do business with the City, vendors are required to register at the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) website. Free registration is available, however, paid registration with the added benefit of receiving automatic notification via e-mail or fax is recommended in order to take full advantage of bid opportunites. The site can be accessed by visiting the MITN Website.

Vendors registering on the MITN site, not only will be registered for the City of Rochester Hills vendor list, but also several other communities including Troy, Sterling Heights, Farmington Hills, Warren, Livingston County, Royal Oak, Birmingham and Southfield.

How do I get a bid tabulation?

Final results of bids, request for proposals and quotations are posted on MITN website after award.

How can I get a bid?

Register as a vendor at the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN).  Notices of solicitations will automatically be e-mailed or faxed based on the products or services supplied.

When does a City purchase have to go out to bid?

A formal solicitation process (Bid, Request for Proposal, Qualifications Based Selection Process) is required when the purchase exceeds $25,000 or for professional services over $50,000. Purchases between $1000 and $25,000 require a quotation, a less formal type of competitive process.

What does the City buy?

The demand generated by a City of approximately 70,000 people results in continual purchases of a large variety of goods and services from pencils and paper (office supplies) to aggregates to fire trucks and lawn mowing services.
