Will the City pick up my trash? Who are the rubbish haulers?
Effective March 30, 2009, Allied Waste Services will be the official trash hauler for all single family residences in Rochester Hills. Through an extensive and competitive bid process, the City of Rochester Hills has contracted with Allied Waste to serve the trash, yard waste and recycling needs of our residents. All Rochester Hills single family residences will be automatically enrolled in the City Solid Waste Program.
If you would like to switch to Allied Waste prior to the March 30, 2009 program start date, call 800-858-0089 to receive a specially negotiated rate for interim service.
Where can I take my hazardous materials?
The City of Rochester Hills participates in the NOHAZ hazardous waste disposal program. For more information on the NOHAZ program, including drop-off dates, please visit their website at www.nohaz.com.
Location of City Hall and hours of operation?
City Hall is located on the South side of Avon just West of Livernois. The address is 1000 Rochester Hills Drive. City Hall is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm
Can the mayor perform a wedding ceremony? Is there a charge? Where do I get my license?
The mayor will perform wedding ceremonies Monday thru Friday from 9:00am - 3:00pm as his schedule allows and within the city limits of Rochester Hills. Please contact the Department of Vital Statistics at Oakland County for Marriage License information 248-858-1000. Per City Ordinance, the cost of a wedding ceremony is $100.00.
Wedding ceremonies are also performed by a Magistrate at the 52nd3rd District Court. Weddings are performed every Friday from 9:00am - 12:00noon and from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. For additional information, please contact the Court at 248-853-5553.
