The torch is passed! Outgoing Youth Council members were recognized and incoming Youth Council members given their Oaths of Office at the City Council meeting of August 11, 2008.

A room full of enthusiasm, as outgoing and incoming Youth Council Members await the start of the Recognition and Swearing In ceremonies.

Outgoing Youth Council members received their certificates and recognition of their accomplishments during the year.

Youth Council members helped the City's team (Eddie and the City Cruisers) raise $3,000 in this year's Relay for Life by organizing a bowlathon.
A great time was had by all!





Youth Council members recruited friends, family, and City Council Members and employee bowlers for a fun evening of strikes, spares and a few gutter balls!
The Youth Summit held April 26, 2008 was a great way for area teens to learn about City government - and was great fun too! RHGYC members spent all year planning this event, inviting teens from all over Michigan. Mayor Bryan Barnett and Copper Rizzo were Summit keynote speakers.

Mayor Barnett had some fun as well, as a DJ entertained the teens during lunch!

The mock council studied several very pressing issues, including traffic, deer, surveillance in schools, and more!!
