Rental of Dairy Barn Meeting Room

The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The adaptively reused 1927 Van Hoosen Dairy Barn is available for your organization to host meetings, lectures, seminars, and programs. Surrounded by brown glaze tile walls, towering silos and professional exhibits highlighting the history of the greater Rochester community, your group will be fascinated by this unique setting for your next event.

Here to Serve You

The Van Hoosen Dairy Barn offers a Meeting Room for your use, which can seat up to 50 people in a lecture-style setting or 25 people seated at tables.Meeting Room
Your organization will also have access to a multi-media projector, slide projector, overhead projector, screen, television, VCR, easels, dry erase boards, and a podium with microphone.
In addition, your organization will have access to the Dairy Barn kitchenette, which provides you with the use of a refrigerator, microwave, coffeepot, and sink. Alcohol and smoking are strictly prohibited.

Rental Fees

Non-profit and community organizations may rent the Dairy Barn Meeting Room at the following rates:
 
Tuesdays through Saturdays
 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  First hour  $50
  Each additional hour $25

Tuesdays through Saturdays
 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm 
  First hour  $100
  Each additional hour $50

For-profit organizations may rent the Dairy Barn Meeting Room at the following rates:

Tuesdays through Saturdays
 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  First hour  $100
  Each additional hour $50

Tuesdays through Saturdays
 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm 
  First hour  $150
  Each additional hour $100

The time used begins with set-up by your organization and runs through your organization's vacancy of the building.

The Meeting Room is not available Sundays or Mondays.

Making Your Reservation

In order to reserve the Dairy Barn Meeting Room, a Meeting Room Contract must be filled out. The rental fee is due two weeks prior to the event, and a one-week cancellation notice is necessary or the full fee will be charged to your organization. The fee is not reduced if your group uses less time than was reserved. The Dairy Barn Meeting Room Contract is available here.

The Van Hoosen Farmhouse

In order to preserve the Van Hoosen Farmhouse and artifacts with which the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm has been entrusted, the Van Hoosen Farmhouse is unavailable for group rentals for meetings, lectures, seminars, and programs. Scheduled tours of this outstanding historic facility are available year-round.
