It is the mission of the Forestry Division to preserve and enhance the quality of life within the City of Rochester Hills by protecting, planting, and maintaining a healthy urban tree population.
Established in 1985, the division is responsible for maintaining more than 19,000 trees along approximately 286 miles of city-maintained streets, 82 miles of bike paths, and along the Paint Creek and Clinton River trails. The division also maintains the trees growing in city parks, at city facilities, and on major boulevards (Walton, Livernois, Hamlin).
Rochester Hills has been named a "Tree City U.S.A." by the National Arbor Day Foundation annually since 1990. The Tree City U.S.A. designation recognizes our community's commitment to a quality tree management program.
