The State of Michigan is a leading business state and globally competitive in attracting industry. Michigan's economy is driven by its stature as the world leader in the automotive industry; but its economy has been bolstered by the phenomenal growth of life science, biotechnology and future fuels industries. Michigan is the #1 state for new plants and expansions on the Site Selection magazine list for an unprecedented five years in a row. No other state in the nation has amassed almost 9,000 new investments or expansions over the past five years.
