RHINO Resident Forums
Mayor Barnett is pleased to introduce RHINO.
RHINO (Rochester Hills Information Neighborhood Online) is an interactive online forum designed to give residents a place to communicate and share information. This forum, which went live on March 26th of this year, requires participants to register to use the forum and is designed for those 13 years and older.
You can access RHINO at rhino.freeforums.org
Registration is a simple online process that takes just a few moments. Viewing and reading the forums does not require registration.
RHINO will server several functions including:
1. Residents will be able to sign up for email notices on several topics. Subscribing and un-subscribing is as easy as clicking a button.
2. Within the site there will be forum categories such as "Around the Home" where residents can share information about gardening, snowplowing contractors, lawn service providers and Solid Waste removal or post garage sale notices. "Things to Do" with information about what there is to do in and around Rochester Hills. "Get Involved" with information on volunteer opportunities like Holiday Helpers or Blood Drives. "Recreation", listing activities at the local parks, trails and pathways, RARA, and OPC.
3. There will be shared neighborhood forums where association leadership boards can give and receive information with other associations on topics related too association management, common issues and types and costs of services used by the neighborhood association.
4. There will be the opportunity for individual Homeowner Associations to manage their own forum. These forums will be listed by the name of the subdivision starting with the letters (A-M) and (N-Z) and will be located at the end of the choices of forums to participate in. One or two members from each neighborhood will be designated as moderators of the forum with authority to delete or edit posts to their forum.
