Spencer Park Pond Hockey Classic - February 9, 2019

The Spencer Park Pond Hockey Classic is an annual event (weather permitting) held on Carter Lake at Spencer Park. Designed to be a fun and friendly 3-on-3 tournament open to any non-professional hockey players, 18 years and older.

  • Teams of up to 5 may be formed to play in a no-goalie, 3-on-3 structure.
  • Teams may be separated into divisions at the organizers discretion to facilitate an equal distribution of skill, however official divisions are not the goal of the tournament.
  • Volunteers donate their time to act as Game Managers. Game Managers will officiate, settle disputes and monitor play for penalties.
  • Mini-games and activities are available for all participants and spectators. These may include memorabilia raffles, accuracy shootout and chuck-a-puck events.
  • The Tournament takes place on Carter Lake. Participants and spectators are invited to use the Boat House warming shelter, located near the fishing pier in Spencer Park.
  • Water, sports drinks, hot chocolate, food and snacks will be available for purchase in the warming shelter.

Prizes and Awards 
  • First and second place teams will receive prize packages. The first place team will have their team name and player names added to the SPPHC Tournament plaque.
  • Teams that lost their first two games are entered into the Bender Bowl. The winner of the Bender Bowl will receive a prize package.
  • Prizes for winners of the mini-games will also be distributed.
