MIS (Management Information Systems)
Responsibilities
Management Information Systems MIS is responsible for the purchase and maintenance of all city computer devices and software applications. The software applications administered consist of large enterprise financial, legislative tracking, utility billing, tax, assessing and permitting, as well as many Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications.

Also included are network operation applications such as the core network itself, office productivity, groupware (email and scheduling) and paging applications. Many other smaller applications used by individuals or small groups are also managed.

User Support
Our user base includes users located in City Hall and eight other locations around the city. Necessary user training for these users is provided at a training facility within City Hall. MIS also provides daily help desk support in the use of equipment and software. All of this is provided with an emphasis on cost effective use of technology in order to maintain a computing environment that promotes an efficient and capable city staff.
