The Calf Barn
Calf Barn

The Calf Barn was built in 1927 and housed the newborn calves. Newborns were kept with their mothers only overnight and then raised by farm workers.

The roof collapsed on this building in 1989 – shortly after the City of Rochester Hills acquired this property. In 2015, an adaptive reuse of this building was completed converting it to a year round, climate controlled, multi purpose facility.

This repair of this building is a shining example of our community’s residents who provide private funds to preserve and reuse this important structure on the Van Hoosen Farm.
