Arbor Day
Arbor Day in Rochester Hills
Arbor Day 2016
On the last Friday in April (Arbor Day), the Forestry Division conducts an annual tree-planting ceremony with the Mayor presiding and often a local scouting or youth group in attendance. Different sites are selected each year for the Arbor Day tree; Borden, Spencer, and Avondale Parks, and City Hall grounds have all been chosen in the past.

2016 Arbor Day Ceremony
This year’s tree planting ceremony commemorating Arbor Day was held on April 29 at 4:00 pm at the Rochester Hills Museum at 1005 Van Hoosen Road.

Rochester Hills - Tree City USA
Rochester Hills has been named a Tree City USA for the 26th year. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service. To become a Tree City USA, a community must meet four standards: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance.

Please call Parks and Forestry at 248.656.4673 for further information.
