Winter Tax Payment Options
Because the winter tax due date falls on a Saturday and on the following Monday the City is closed for the Presidents' Day holiday, the 2008 winter bill will be payable through Tuesday, February 17, 2009 without interest or penalty. For your convenience, the City currently offers the following methods for tax payment:
- By Mail - Tax payments can be mailed to CITY OF ROCHESTER HILLS, Drawer #7783, PO Box 79001, Detroit, MI 48279-7783. Postmark is not honored so please allow, as the post office recommends, 5 business days for first class postal delivery. To help insure your payment will reach us on time, we recommend your 2008 winter property tax payment be mailed by February 9, 2009.

- Drop Box - 2008 winter property tax payments placed in our drop box by midnight on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 will not incur interest charges. This drive-up drop box is located in front of City Hall in the visitor's parking lot.
- In Person at City Hall - Payments can be made at the cashier's counter located upstairs in the Treasury Department. City hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- At Local Bank Branches - Through the due date, Tuesday, February 17, 2009, you may pay your 2008 winter property tax bill at Community Central Bank and the following branches of Bank of America: Adams/Walton, Rochester/Orion, Rochester/Meadowfield Dr. and Crooks/M-59.
- Electronic Payment - Each tax season you can set-up your tax payment to be electronically deducted from your checking or savings account on the date you specify. For paying your 2008 winter property tax bill, this service may be used through February 2009. If you choose a date that is later than the due date of the 2008 winter tax bill, February 17, 2009, interest and/or penalty charges will be assessed, as usual. There is no charge to you to use this 24-hours a day, 7-days a week service. Call (800) 438-9926 or access website http://eps.mvpbanking.com. The access code is 3130. Click here for the instructions for using this service. This service is especially convenient for those on vacation or who leave the state during the winter months when taxes are due. You can set-up your payment to take place anytime through the due date and eliminate the worry of remembering to pay your taxes.
- Credit/Debit Card - You may use your MasterCard, MasterMoney Debit, Visa, VisaCheck, Discover or American Express card to make your tax payment. There is a convenience fee charged by the provider, Official Payments, to use this service. For paying your 2008 winter property tax bill, this service may be used through February 2009. 2008 winter tax bills paid after the due date of February 17, 2009, will be assessed interest and/or penalty, as usual.
