The goal of the Planning & Development Department is to provide assistance through the entire phase of development - from the initial concept meeting, through final approval.
The responsibilities of the Planning & Development Department include:
- Coordinate Site Plan Review and Approval
- Coordinate Subdivision Plat Review and Approval
- Coordinate Site Condominium Review and Approval
- Review and update of the City's Master Land Use Plan
- Provide Concept Meetings
- Conditional and Special Land Use Requests
- Landscape Plan Review and Inspections
- Rezoning Requests
- Tree Removal Permit and Inspection
- Variance Requests
- Wetland Determinations and Wetland Use Permits
- Zoning Ordinance Requirements
The Planning & Development Department also provides assistance with the following:

A Message from the Director
The Planning & Development Department consistently strives to adhere to the policies of the Master Land Use Plan and other adopted policies as established by State and local laws.
It is the goal of the Planning & Development Department to provide to the public all necessary information concerning ordinances and procedures governing land use and development in the City. Preparing the Planning & Development Department to handle inquiries will be a priority. Interaction with developers, residents and builders will commence with informative sessions by staff members relative to development policies and requirements.
