Ball diamonds are located at Borden Park, Avondale Park, and Helen Allen Park. Ball diamonds may be used unreserved on a first-come, first-served basis if they are not reserved by others and if they are not set up for a game that will take place later that day.

Soccer fields are located at Borden Park and Spencer Park. Soccer fields can only be used with a reservation.

Multipurpose fields are located at Avondale and Bloomer Parks. These fields can be reserved for a fee. When not reserved, they may be used on a first-come, first-served basis. For multipurpose field availability and reservation information, call Bloomer Park at (248) 656-4753.

Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, and Roller Hockey Rinks

Tennis courts are located in Borden Park, Avondale Park, and Spencer Park. Basketball Courts are located in Borden Park and Avondale Park. Roller Hockey Rinks are located in Borden Park. These courts can only be used on a first-come, first-served basis, unless they are reserved by RARA (go to the Existing Field Reservation Calendars below). Only RARA can reserve any of these courts.

Reservation Requirements and Fees

Ball diamonds and soccer fields may be reserved for a rental fee. All reservations are governed by the Sports Facilities Use Policy (Administrative Policy #400-2011) and Insurance Requirements must be met. (Click here for Example ACORD insurance forms.) Sports Field Rental Fees are based on residency / non-residency status, age, field size, field use (game or practice), and requested setups. Special rates are available for tournaments. Resident teams qualify for the resident rate based on Team Rosters and Resident Discount criteria.

Making a Sports Field Reservation

All ball diamond and soccer field reservation requests are processed by the staff at Borden Park. Field reservations can be made by phone, fax, email, or in person at the Park Office at Borden Park (call first to see if a staff person is available). Please check the Field Availability Calendars below and submit the designated request form when you are ready to make your reservation.

Reservation Deposits and Payments

Deposits

To issue a field permit to you, a deposit is required. This is calculated at 25% of your total fees, or the full reservation fee if the fee is $25 or less. Deposits can be made as described below.

To immediately guarantee your reservation, use your credit/debit card for the deposit.

Payments

Payments can be made by cash, check, credit card and selected debit cards.

Cash payments can be made in person at Borden Park (call ahead first) or at the City Hall Parks Department.

Rainouts and Game Cancellations

Ball diamond and soccer field reservations and park events may be cancelled due to bad weather and/or unsafe field conditions. Please call our new rainout number 248-841-2680 to hear information about any rainouts or cancellations. Messages are updated as soon as information becomes available.

Tents and Canopies

If you own or rent a tent/canopy for use within one of the city parks, please review the city's requirements.
