Description
From the City of Rochester north through the City of Rochester Hills and Oakland Township to the Village of Lake Orion, the Paint Creek Trail follows the Paint Creek as it meanders through fields, prairies, woodlands, and marshlands. Approximately 8.5 miles long, the trail is built on the gentle grade of a former railroad bed. The trail's 8-ft. wide, all-weather limestone surface makes it ideal for year-round activity. It's a place for non-motorized travel, a place to enjoy a quiet look at nature and scenic open space. The trail has numerous access points as well as connections to the Bald Mountain State Recreation Area, Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve, and the Rochester Municipal Park. The Paint Creek Walkway through the City of Rochester provides access to the Rochester Hills Public Library and will provide a connection to the Clinton River Trail.
