Park Amenities


This 18.5-acre park offers one ball diamond, two tennis courts, two basketball courts, two sand volleyball courts, a multipurpose field, a picnic area with a small picnic shelter, a playground, tot lot, and paved parking for 45 vehicles. 

 

Avondale Park Playscape
Tot Lot

Designed for children that are between 2 and 5 years old.  Offers smaller slide and play equipment with a 4' height and big bucket swings




Restrooms


There is no modern restroom located on the site.  A portable toilet is provided during the peak usage period of mid-April through October.

 


Avondale Shelter


Picnic Area and Shelter


There are several picnic tables, 2 charcoal grills, and one small picnic shelter available on a first-come, first-served basis.  The shelter cannot be reservedBall Diamond





Ball Diamond

The ball diamond can be reserved.  Go to Sports Field Reservations for information on pricing and field availability, or call Borden Park at 248-656-4797.

In addition to the Tot Lot, there is a playground area for older children.





Multi-Purpose Field

The multi-purpose field can be reserved for lacrosse league play.  Contact Bloomer Park at 248-656-4753 for more information.


 

Pets


Pets are permitted but must be kept on a 6-ft. leash.

There are two basketball courts, two tennis courts, and two sand volleyball courts offered on a first-come, first-served basis when RARA is not using them for instruction.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited within all city parks.
  2. Pets must be on a 6' leash and under immediate control.
  3. Speed limit within the parks is 15 miles per hour.
  4. Children under the age of twelve (12) should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  5. No trailers, boats, snowmobiles or overnight parking are allowed in the p
  6. Ground fires are prohibited.
  7. Destruction of property, natural surroundings, or wildlife within the parks is strictly forbidden.
  8. Disorderly conduct tending to create a breach of the peace, or disturb or annoy others within the parks is prohibited.
  9. It is prohibited to bring in, have, or use any firearm or any other weapon within the parks.
