·Tornado Warning System
The City of Rochester Hills Fire Department is pleased to announce that Oakland County Emergency Management has upgraded the tornado warning sirens in our community. The upgrade included the addition of two new sirens, a two way signal from the sirens to Oakland County Emergency Management on test dates to confirm they are working and the relocation of another one to better serve our community. The sirens are tested monthly from March through November and listed below are the 2007 test dates and times. When the sirens are being tested, you will hear them at the designated date and time and they will sound for three minutes.
It is important to note that the sirens are "outdoor warning sirens" designed to warn residents who are outside, not indoors. In an effort to provide adequate safety measures for our residents, our Department in committed to monitoring questionable areas in our city to determine the future needs of additional sirens to better protect our community.
