PLEASE NOTE The February 28th Presidential Primary Election is a Closed Primary There are two separate ballot types to select from to participate in this primary: Republican Party or Democratic Party. Whether voting by absentee ballot or voting in person at the polls, voters must make a party selection on their Application to Vote to receive a ballot. As there are no “non-partisan” candidates or proposals for this election, there is no third ballot from which to choose. Public Act 163 adopted by the Michigan State Legislature and approved by the Governor on October 4, 2011 identifies the rules for the Presidential Primary. www.michiganlegislature.org
