Addressing Compliance
In the event of an emergency it is important that fire, police or ambulance personnel are able to locate your place of residence fast and efficiently. Your address should be located where it can be easily seen from the road or if setback more than 75 feet from the road a separate sign, post or mailbox should display your address numbers as well.
City ordinance requires that each building have the proper street address displayed and also comply with the following:
- Be located above or adjacent to the main entrance
- Be at least 3 inches in height
- Contrast with the background and be clearly visible from the street
- Address shall be expressed in digits and placed on a horizontal or diagonal line no more than 45 degrees from horizontal so as to be read properly from left to right
