To Order An Inspection (248) 656-4619
Questions? (248) 656-4615 | On October 24, 2008, the State of Michigan enacted the 2003 Michigan Uniform Energy Code (2003 MEUC). This new Code requires all Homeowners and Building Contractors erecting new homes or additions to make sure their project meets compliance requirements as outlined in the 2003 MEUC.
Effective February 17, 2009, the City of Rochester Hills Building Department will provide Energy Code Inspections. An Energy Code Inspection will allow the Building Department to verify insulation installed in basement, crawl spaces, floors, walls, ceilings, and other building areas meets the requirements of the 2003 MEUC and that it has been installed correctly. It is important to note that Energy Code Inspections will have to be done before drywall is installed.
Additional Energy Code Inspections may be required depending on the method of compliance to the 2003 MEUC the designer declared during the plan review process, and the extent of the proposed project.
Energy Code Inspections can be scheduled by calling the 24-Hour Inspection Hotline at (248) 656-4619.
Questions about Energy Code Inspections may be directed to the Building Department at (248) 656-4615.
