There are many public and private resources available to help businesses find qualified workers and assist job seekers. Below is a partial list.
Public Resources
Michigan Works! Service Centers – Professionally trained staff are available to assist employers and job seekers. Employer services include referral, resume screening, job fairs and job postings. Job seekers can benefit from: training programs; access to computers and the Internet; and assistance with seeking employment, counseling, and writing and posting resumes on the Michigan Talent Bank.
There are two offices serving our area:
Michigan Talent Bank – This is a state-funded database. All Michigan workers that become available are required to register with this database in order to be eligible for unemployment. Employers can search resumes and post job openings. Job seekers can post resumes and search for jobs.
Michigan Jobs and Career Portal – This is another state resource where you can search for jobs, start a business, find financial aid for school and learn about job training resources. Job seekers can learn about careers and new occupations or connect to resources for employers, teachers, students, and parents.
WorkingHabitat Group LLC - A Web portal tool to help recruit and employ engineers and designers, this site is free to any unemployed professional who registers. This searchable database mechanism for white-collar workers allows them to work remotely from home or anywhere. Companies can explore resumes of prospective employees from this online talent pool.
